Clinical Trials & Research

Makis Health Clinic is not just a treatment facility; it is a global research hub. We are dedicated to advancing the field of Nuclear Medicine by actively participating in and leading clinical trials to bring the next generation of theranostics to our patients faster than traditional pathways.

Active Clinical Trials

We are currently enrolling patients in several early and late-phase clinical trials designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of novel radiotracers and alpha-emitting isotopes.

Ac-225 DOTATATE in Refractory NETs

Recruiting

Evaluating the efficacy of Targeted Alpha Therapy (TAT) using Actinium-225 in patients with advanced neuroendocrine tumors who have progressed after standard Lutetium-177 PRRT therapy.

Key Eligibility:

  • Confirmed progression on Lu-177 DOTATATE
  • Positive Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT uptake
  • Adequate renal and hepatic function

Lu-177 PSMA + PARP Inhibitor Synergy

Active, Not Recruiting

Investigating the synergistic effects of combining PARP inhibitors (to prevent cancer cell DNA repair) with Lutetium-177 PSMA-617 beta-radiation in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

This cohort is fully enrolled. Interim data analysis expected Q3 2026.

Ac-225 FAPI in Advanced Solid Tumors

Recruiting

A Phase I/II trial exploring Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor (FAPI) targeted alpha therapy. FAP is overexpressed in the tumor microenvironment of over 28 different cancers (including breast, colon, and pancreatic).

Key Eligibility:

  • Refractory solid tumor malignancy
  • Positive Ga-68 FAPI PET/CT uptake

Trial Screening

Not all patients are eligible for clinical trials. Eligibility is strictly governed by institutional review boards (IRBs) to ensure patient safety. The first step to determining eligibility is a comprehensive review of your medical records and baseline molecular imaging.
